Sigmetrix to Update EZtol, CETOL 6σ for NX, CATIA
MCKINNEY, TX, USA, Apr 13, 2018 – Sigmetrix, global experts in GD&T and mechanical variation, will be releasing updated versions of EZtol, CETOL 6σ for NX, and CETOL 6σ for CATIA in April. The new versions will offer updated and enhanced ability to determine the impact of part and assembly variation on the fit and performance of products.
EZtol v1.2 is a significant upgrade to the capabilities of Sigmetrix’s initial release of this 1D tolerance analysis tool less than a year ago. “We’re focused on providing a tolerance analysis solution that’s as easy to use as possible, so we’ve listened to user feedback and focused on a range of enhancements that not only simplify the workflows but also expand the types of problems that can be evaluated with EZtol”, said Stephen Werst, Senior Product Strategist at Sigmetrix. “For example, users often had difficulty selecting the interfacing features between parts deep within complex assemblies, so we’ve implemented an innovative approach that makes the selection of the desired objects extremely simple.” Other enhancements in this release include:
- Support of assemblies containing parts that use different units
- Ability to select CAD reference point features as well as vertices when including more complex surfaces, such as with plastic parts, in the stackup definition
- User-selectable treatment of how to include clearances between parts in the tolerance stack-up
- Automatic correction for any mispositioned parts in the assembly model
- User-definable distances between parts to incorporate items that may not be modeled such as paint or other coating processes
- The ability to set different Cp assumptions for individual parts and even specific dimensions of features when performing statistical analyses
The new release also moves all the tools to the ribbon and provides additional help on the tools used to interact with the model in the EZtol environment.

CETOL 6σ 10.1 has some nice additions to the already robust 3D tolerance analysis software that has enabled product development teams to easily and fully understand the often-complex impact of dimensional and assembly variation on their designs for years. In addition to the ability to open NX files, CETOL 6σ 10.1 will have the capability to open CATIA files. This release also offers the ability to show only the active object in your CAD display – all parts outside of the active object are not shown. This and other UI enhancements allows you to focus on the CAD geometry of interest improving the user experience. CETOL 6σ v10.1 also adds support for some non-standard CAD model structures, adds the ability to select a vertex of the CAD model geometry as a feature reference, improves geometry highlighting and view manipulation performance for large models, and offers improved report stylesheets.
CETOL 6σ v8.4.3 is the latest release of our fully integrated CATIA V5-6 solution adding support for the latest CATIA V5-6 releases, CATIA V5-6 for R2017 (R27) and R2018 (R28).
