ModuleWorks, Sandvik Coromant Announce Strategic Partnership
AACHEN, Germany, Sep 11, 2019 - Sandvik Coromant has chosen ModuleWorks as one of its software development partners. The partnership is part of the Sandvik Coromant digital manufacturing strategy to enable software development to go hand-in-hand with the invention of new tools and machining methods.
Yavuz Murtezaoglu, Managing Director of ModuleWorks (L) and Marko Stugbäck, Software Manager for Digital Machining Business at Sandvik Coromant (R).
“To utilize the available manufacturing resources more efficiently and to bring our innovative machining processes to life, we need to ensure optimal and successful application of the cutting technology. ModuleWorks are the recognized experts in this field, and we’re excited to have them on board as a partner”, explains Marko Stugbäck, Software Manager for Digital Machining Business at Sandvik Coromant. “ModuleWorks’ unique position as a component provider with a big reach in the global manufacturing industry makes them a highly valuable partner in our mission to share our innovations with the market faster by making them available as native CAM-strategies for any CAM solution”.
The fruits of the partnership are already available in the new and patented PrimeTurning methodology that increases efficiency and productivity by providing turning in all directions. With PrimeTurning, together with the Sandvik Coromant CoroTurn Prime turning tools, you can achieve faster material removal rates, accelerated job throughput and higher productivity. ModuleWorks also developed secure G-code generation software for the PrimeTurning method with versatile and easy-to-use parameterization for fast and flexible job setup with different tools and machines.
“We’re delighted to work together with Sandvik Coromant and to see how our software components are helping to open new machining possibilities”, says Yavuz Murtezaoglu, Managing Director of ModuleWorks. “New tooling concepts need optimized toolpath cycles to successfully transfer the applied innovation from the lab to the production environment where it adds true value by turning classical applications into new, improved and more cost-effective production processes. We look forward to a continued and successful cooperation and to supporting Sandvik Coromant with their future innovations.”
ModuleWorks has developed the PrimeTurning toolpath algorithms that ModuleWorks partners can purchase as an API for integration into CAD/CAM software solutions. PrimeTurning is also available as a complete integrated solution in CoroPlus ToolPath from Sandvik Coromant.
