t is an exciting time for all of us at COMSOL, as this is when we get to see all the new work COMSOL users have been doing the past year! I have been reading papers for the past seven years now, and I never cease to be amazed at the range of topics presented and the versatility of use of the tool and the dexterity of users.
The poster session during the conference is especially interesting to me, as it provides an opportunity to talk at length to the poster presenters and understand the motivation for, and content of their work. Apart from the research presented, something that particularly impressed me last year at the Bangalore conference is how some undergrads had used COMSOL to better understand concepts that their instructors were teaching them in courses.
One poster that stood out was by Rachee Singh, from BITS Goa. As I was discussing her work during our poster session, she said she used COMSOL to confirm her professor’s teachings in a course project (turned out he was indeed correct). She also co-won a special award for the “Best Undergraduate Poster Presentation” at the conference.
