EON Reality Italia will play an important role in the industrial upgrade strategy of the Region and will offer precious experiential training to students, businesses, and professionals through a regional rollout of the AVR Platform. Also, the IDC will become the Italian hub for the development of content and applications related to Augmented and Virtual Reality and the AVR Platform. The IDC also contains a VR Innovation Academy (VRIA) that will train new AR and VR professionals who will support EON Reality and other companies in their AR and VR endeavors.
“EON Reality’s leadership in Augmented and Virtual Reality, which we feel is a key component to Industry 4.0, and their decision to settle in Emilia-Romagna means that we are recognized internationally in our infrastructure capacity and technological excellence,” said Stefano Bonaccini, President of Regione Emilia-Romagna. “The work we are doing in terms of internationalization and attraction of investment is paying off. We are attracting resources, growing ideas, and we are also creating knowledge, which are mixed with large professional skills, research, and innovation that companies in Emilia-Romagna help establish, but also what our workers and our engineers are able to achieve.”
David Scowsill, CEO of EON Reality, with Palma Costi, Councilor for productive activities, energy plan, green economy, and post-earthquake reconstruction of Emilia-Romagna.
By improving the training of operators and technicians, industries in Emilia-Romagna can reduce accidents, reduce costs, and simplify the overall training and production process. The AVR Platform and its three SaaS based products, Creator AVR, Virtual Trainer, and AR Assist, will support the entire knowledge transfer process enterprises undertake, from on-boarding to training, to in field assistance. The Learn, Train, Perform path of the AVR Platform will improve efficiency and productivity for workers across a wide range of industries.
“In Emilia-Romagna, we see a great opportunity to improve local knowledge transfer and to bring regional expertise to the global community,” said David Scowsill CEO of EON Reality. “The IDC will ensure the region remains at the forefront of innovation and represents an investment for the future of the citizens. In this respect, we look forward to addressing the needs of the regional market with the AVR Platform and we are excited about the ability to develop unique knowledge transfer applications built on local expertise.”
*The IDC will open in Q3 of 2018 and will be accepting students for their first VRIA class in the fall of 2018.
