Mr. Arun Rao, Channel Head- Value Solutions & Senior Director, Strategy India at Dassault Systèmes gives a great insight on 3DEXPERIENCE on WHEELS Connected Value Network campaign, shares how the Dassault Systèmes’ big, bold vision for India helps the industry realize new growth.
Tell us more about the 3DEXPERIENCE on WHEELS campaign?
The 3DEXPERIENCE on WHEELS Connected Value Network is a campaign aimed to showcase the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform to the suppliers across Transportation & Mobility, Aerospace & Defense and Industrial Equipment industries. Launched in 2017, this is 3rd edition of the campaign. This is actually a mobile lounge that will cover western and Northern regions of India traveling to 8 states, 30 cities and visiting around 200+ customers.
The first campaign in 2017 helped us to understand the essentials for the success of 3DEXPERIENCE on WHEELS. Such campaigns combined powerful, meaningful, inspirational messages delivered in ways that touch our audiences; with great products and services that perform to the expectations of our users.This is a unique way to get your products into the hands of your audience.
Through this campaign, we will be showcasing industry specific solutions like Bid to Win (Transportation & Mobility), Single source of speed (Industrial Equipment) and Engineered to fly (Aerospace & Defense) aimed at creating a connected value network and achieving better time to market and new business opportunities. We will also illustrate the value in streamlining cross-functional and cross-organizational collaboration that can help our customers innovate faster in response to changing customer demand.
What is 3DEXPERIENCE platform?
3DEXPERIENCE is a business platform that ties together all the aspects of the engineering process and engineering business into one connected space where it is much easier for teams to collaborate on projects. It has a single, easy-to-use interface that houses different software applications for 3D design, analysis and simulation so team members are all in the same main software environment looking at all the same data and all the same files.
As technology is evolving, the way we develop new products has changed not just for OEMs but also applicable to SMEs.The world of manufacturing has shifted its focus from mass production to mass customization and quick delivery to an on-demand generation of consumers. Complete synchronization and integration of operations, modularity and predictive analytics have enabled manufacturers to provide consumers with a personalized experience. The 3DEXPERIENCE platform is scalable to suit the requirements of every organization. Adopters can choose to start with basic functionality and then move to more advanced capabilities. We are constantly adding new apps and functions to the platform, so the range of capability is expanding. We are now offering a complete SAAS model for a lot of apps within the platform. This will dramatically reduce the complexity and cost of implementation of 3DEXPERIENCE platform.
How is the response from MSMEs, what are your views?
In India MSMEs at a certain point of a time constraint to go for technology based on their ability to invest. But as I said we have special solutions for every industry to meet their needs. Most MSMEs understand the importance of the adaption of technology. It fosters the culture of innovation, better product design and strengthens manpower. These are the important three dimensions we believe would benefit MSMEs.
3DEXPERIENCE suite of apps are the industry-focused and integrated product, built around industry best practices and processes keeping in mind the ROI that OEMs or MSMEs would get Dassault Systemes has SME-friendly solutions that are cloud-ready at attractive price points. Enterprise solutions on the cloud save customers significant upfront investment in hardware and maintenance.
One of the key aspects of this campaign is to visit some of our existing customers and new prospects and showcase our recently acquired newer technologies. The campaign is designed to enable suppliers to scale up the product engineering & manufacturing ecosystem by meeting current OEM requirements and future industry norms.
What is the concept of CREATE IN INDIA?
Create in India as a concept was first coined by our Sr. VP Global Sales. He believes in the complete ecosystem where India can lead globally cohesively not just in Manufacturing but also in design, innovation and skilling workforce. Dassault Systèmes contributes to each of the segments of innovation (new idea), design (engineering), manufacturing (production) and workforce of future (skilling and re-skilling) in new domains.
There is a lot of innovation going on in India and a lot of sectors are highly interested to go digital. MSMEs must adopt the latest technologies for breaking down barriers between stakeholders and establishing digital continuity will prove key as India moves forward on this growth curve, preparing to “Create in India” is the next step towards sustained value generation. Companies should be able to easily collaborate, recreate processes in virtual formats, access a common data source, and work across a flexible and highly productive “Connected Value Network”, instead of rigid supply chains.
Any message you would like to give to MSMEs in India?
India’s MSME base is one of the largest in the world. The sector provides a wide range of services and is engaged in manufacturing – ranging from traditional to hi-tech products.
