ALLPLAN to Present Solution Portfolio for BIM at BAU 2019

MUNICH, Germany, Nov 5, 2018 – ALLPLAN is presenting its solution portfolio for Building Information Modeling including cloud-based technologies at BAU 2019. Visitors can find out how BIM works in practice with Allplan in Hall C5 at Stand 320: From model creation, visualization and quantity determination as well as the general arrangement and reinforcement planning through to smooth cooperation with all supply chain partners via Allplan Bimplus. ALLPLAN’s cloud-based BIM platform ensures that BIM models, information, documents, and tasks are centrally managed throughout the entire project life cycle. This makes BIM-based collaboration across office and discipline boundaries even easier and more effective.

 


Highlights of the new Allplan 2019 version, such as the new Floor and Level Manager, will be the focus of ALLPLAN’s presence at BAU 2019.

Intelligent BIM Workflows for Architecture and Engineering

The focus of ALLPLAN’s presence at the trade fair will be on Allplan as a platform that integrates both architectural and engineering workflows for the most comprehensive BIM solution in the construction industry. With Allplan, high-quality plans, reports, and visualizations can be created from design to construction planning with detailed technical requirements. In addition, all common interfaces are available for smooth cooperation with other software solutions. Thanks to the new IFC4 export in Allplan, all types of BIM data including free-form geometries and reinforcement can be transferred across all disciplines. All changes to the original design, are carried out once and automatically transferred to all drawings. This reduces the risk of errors and saves time.

Improved collaboration for all disciplines

ALLPLAN will also be demonstrating at BAU 2019 how multidisciplinary teams can work on a BIM model in real time and manage information, documents, and tasks regardless of size and location. This is made possible by the open, cloud-based BIM platform Allplan Bimplus, which can be connected to any software in the construction industry via its API or IFC interface. The data contained is combined in a central coordination model (BIM model) and displayed visually. Furthermore, with direct connections to other third-party design systems, BIM workflows are optimized and interdisciplinary collaboration improved.

Allplan users can now also access the international Nemetschek steel profile catalogs in Allplan Bimplus.

In addition, the Allplan Bimplus platform offers numerous construction-specific applications:

  1. The connection to Microsoft Excel makes it easier to edit component properties. All desired alphanumeric information such as materials, fire protection classes, weights, prices, etc. are transferred directly from the BIM coordination model to Microsoft Excel and processed there with the usual functions.
  2. Construction processes can be visualized by linking the BIM model in Allplan Bimplus with Microsoft Project. Process attributes such as start and end dates and progress are transferred to Allplan Bimplus and linked to the associated elements.
  3. With the revision comparison, changes in the revisions of the BIM models can be tracked.

More productivity through automated processes

Automated processes are an important method of accelerating everyday work tasks. ALLPLAN took up this trend several years ago introducing SmartParts and continued it with PythonParts in Allplan 2018 and 2019. PythonParts make it easier to create your own parametric objects using a predefined construction kit consisting of basic elements such as columns, girders, beams, trusses, foundations and stairs. In the latest release, the PythonParts for beams, columns, and stairs have been further optimized.

 


Recurring tasks are done in no time with PythonParts in Allplan 2019. 

 

At BAU, visitors will also get a taste of the next evolutionary step: an embedded Visual Scripting (VS) Tool, available as a technical preview in Allplan 2019. With the help of VS technology, the ‘design logic’ is displayed graphically, making complex tasks easy to understand. The new feature allows users to quickly and easily define complex parametric objects such as trusses.
